What you will learn in this course:
The Italians (who know a lot about the Voice) called her “La Stupenda”. Others referred to her as “The Voice of the Century”. This tall Australian woman with a Wagnerian-sized voice was trained by her husband, Richard Bonynge, to become the greatest exponent of “Bel Canto” singing of her time, even when compared to her impressive contemporaries, Maria Callas, Montserrat Caballé and Beverly Sills. She teamed with Luciano Pavarotti and Marilyn Horne for many performances and recordings. We will explore her life and times – and the golden age of Bel Canto singing.
